EastWest released Hollywood Orchestra collection, that bundles Hollywood String, Brass, Woodwinds and Percussion (Diamond version, 680 GB, provided on external USB3 drive). It is available at an introductory price of $599 / EUR653, that is 80 percent discount from buying separate products (and is about the same price as was Symphonic Orchestra Gold 10 years ago).

Acousticsamples provides 30 percent discount through December, 31. We can then get Kawai EX Pro library (10.9 GB, 3 mic positions) for 62 euros. It is based on UVI engine and requires an iLok key. A video demo is available here.

Among Black Friday’s specials we can find most Native Instruments samples libraries at half price, also most EastWest ones half price  – through December 31, including HL Strings, HL Brass, Ministry of Rock 2, however not HL Woodwinds -, SynthMaster at 40 percent discount (that is $78 for the standard version – includes 150 additional presets besides the factory’s 500 ones).

Also amplesound is providing 55 percent discount on its Guitar series (that is $99 each) and UVI offers 25 percent discounts on its samples libraries.

OrangeTree still provides Evolution Electric Guitar Strawberry at $107 (40 percent discount from $179 price).

IK Multimedia also provides Total Sudio 3 bundle at 250$/200 euros (additional 40 euros VAT for EU).

Finally the Gear credits group buy reached more than 2000 sales, then offering 3 credits packs (same as the purchased one) : that is for 15 euros (20 credits pack) you get 80 credits total, and for 30 euros – 45 credits pack – (additional 6 euros VAT) you get 180  credits. High ends amps are available for 30 credits, while items are average 15 credits.

Steam provides Grand Theft Auto Complete Pack at 9,99 euros only for a few hours. The collection includes GTA, GTA2, GTA3, GTA Sand Andreas, GTA Vice City, GTA IV and GTA Episodes From Lliberty City.

GTA San Andreas is still available on the Mac App Store for 5,79 euros, however comments report very deceiving performance even on fastest macs. The PC Steam version under Crossover Games (see compatibility list here) may then run faster. About GTA IV (also supported through Crossover however still requiring high resources on Windows), using Bootcamp may be better.

We can also found on Steam Deux Ex : Human Revolutions at 24,99 euros (50 percent discount).

Macgamestore provides Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood at 33 percent discount (26,77$), reported as smoother than Assassin’s Creed 2, and also Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare at 19,95$ (50 percent discount).
Steam provides Portal 2 at 14,99$ (50 percent discount).

Shade 12 Standard : discount

Shade 12 Standard is provided at 72 percent discount (99$) until November, 28. This version brings, compared to the Basic version available at the App Store, displacement mapping, volumetric textures, particles system, enhanced animation tool (with Hair Salon, Toon animation), and effects.

Native Instruments provides 50 percent discount on many instruments, samples libraries and effects until November, 28.

Hollywood Strings Diamond and Gold are available at respectively for 620 euros (instead 827 euros) and 371 euros (instead 495 euros) this week end (that is 25 percent discount). The buy one get one promotion also seems available (form to send to EastWest alongwith the original invoice – shipping costs of 29,99$ for the free product).

Camel Audio provides its Alchemy Player samples player for free, with 200 included instruments (1 GB). A pro version is also available (249$ – includes 675 instruments/5,5 GB).

Moreover the additional libraries are provided with 50 percent discount until July, 4.

Note : after installing the bonus presets the previously installed key file is deleted. Then run again the Alchemy Player.

The upgrade to Kontakt 4 is provided at 64,50 euros until June, 30. We can expect a Kontakt 5 (or 4.5 – that would be a free update then) announcement this summer.

The EAReverb group buy ended at a 59 euros final price (close to the minimum then) and this price is now available for all users (not restricted to people that joigned the group by) until June, 24. We can listen to audio examples and download a demo here.

Ambient and hall EAReverb presets are geat, very natural/do not change the overall sound tone compared with convolution-based reverb, and add a nice modulation to the release trails. However church and cathedral presets aren’t as impressive and realistic than with YellowTools Origami reverb (EAReverb slight pitch modulation found on release trails do not sound right for such reverb category).


NI provides a 4.1 update to Kontakt, that brings background samples loading (and whose priority/order depends from previously used samples), and full 64 bits support on mac (doesn’t use anymore the memory server).

NI also provides 50 percent discount on update/crossgrade in June : notably upgrades to Kontakt 4 (from versions 1, 2 or 3) is available for 64,50 euros (see this threadabout compatibility/merge of libraries from various versions of Kontakt).
