iPhone GPS & Bluetooth

Posted: September 3, 2008 in Apple, Troubleshooting

The iPhone included GPS uses various means to manage localization : cellular network, Wifi, or geolocalization. The later requires at least 3 well positionned satellites (can take from a few seconds to 20 minutes) and it does not work inside (you have to open windows at least).
The bluetooth feature on the iPhone is limited to communication with handsets. It doesn’t allow files transfer from/to a computer or another device (Apple says it is too slow, and that you have to use Wifi networks – same revolution as with the first iMac that didn’t onboard a floppy drive and only provided USB connections).
